I try, failingly, admittedly, to keep my specific politics away from here, because I dont want to fight with you, and also because it doesn’t seem very useful to be shouting into the void. But I do have some particular thoughts on what would need to be done to revitalize America.
1: the expansion of democracy:
—A new voting rights act guaranteeing
—universal mail in ballots
—DC statehood+puerto Rico referendum on independence or statehood
—abolish electoral college
—end gerrymandering or make house more proportional
—reduce power of the senate

2: immediate action to stabilize Americans economic status:
—widespread development of low cost public housing
—drastic increase in infrastructure development
—free healthcare and higher education
—widespread debt forgiveness
—$15 minimum wage
—employee representation on boards

3: actions to stabilize social conditions:
—government influence to make families easier to maintain on one income
—increased funding of public arts and social sciences
—increased support for empowered labor, social and religious institutions
—increased democratization of society

I’m not pretending any of these are easy, or that they’re straightforward fixes. But I do believe that is the minimum necessary to stop the slide towards the disastrous fate we seem to all now recognize is coming quickly
Anyway there’s something very stupid indeed about a random person on twitter sharing these things out. But whatever. I dont think the problem is that the answers are hard to find.
