So, I will discuss how J-Hope and JK’s functions balance each other’s.

JK is a dominant Fi user. For example, at age 15, he decides to move to Seoul to pursue career as an idol, but had trouble fitting in. He tries to not bother anyone (taking showers only when everyone goes to sleep), and struggles to fit in.
J-Hope’s highly conscious Fe likely locked onto JK’s highly conscious Fi and likely could fully appreciate the value of Fi in JK.
In turn, J-Hope’s open nature (dom Fe) made JK’s Fi feel safe enough to open up and express himself.

J-Hope has Si aux. This is seen in his own decision to always (keyword: habit) to take JK when shopping for food, and otherwise acting like a parent (aux Si being responsible) to JK as trainees. This allows JK’s aux. Se to find some habit to hold onto as a base for his Se.
He is able to relax around J-Hope, and is able to act in ways that allows him to shine (which is important in public-facing jobs like k-pop idols).
I don’t think I need to explain JK’s mastery in Se here. We all know he can just pick up and do anything.

J-Hope has Ne tert. This makes SJs wonder if they are indeed doing the right thing, going the right direction, etc. There was once an incident when J-Hope decided to leave BTS as a trainee. This probably stemming from his insecure Ne, as he was also a JYP trainee (bigger co).
It is then JK’s tert Ni that responds. Along with his high Fi which has attached strong authentic feelings for J-Hope, JK begs J-Hope not to leave. He apparently bawled his eyes out. This is JK’s Ni confronting and attempting to hold onto J-Hope’s Ne. JK knows this is right (Ni).
J-Hope leaves and stays at home for a while to give himself the time to think (inferior Ti). And it seems he got the confirmation he needed regarding his own truth (Ti), because he returned.
JK’s Te in turn, was validated by seeing the results of his action (J-Hope’s return).

That plus the toughness of Kpop idol trainee system made their bond even tougher.
And Sunbaes (seniors) are supposed to take care of Hoobaes (juniors) in Korean culture, but it doesn’t always happen. J-Hope being ESFJ was probably very beneficial for JK (and he also believes so)

I’ve often found ENTJ ladies delightful to talk with (and we sometimes naturally gravitate toward each other). I’ve found that their dominant Te absolutely perfect for my dominant Ti as their questions always make me think of things I’ve never ever thought of before.
I love listening to them talk about esoteric things, and suggesting options or alternate angles to bring about what they are imagining, and they always respect my time (in strange ways, but it works).
Lastly of course, I think generally they come from a as good place. The stronger their Ni, the easier it is to see that I can trust their inferior Fi.
I say this only to say that I can see why JK and J-Hope are that close.
