I was listening to #RealTalkRJ from this morning and did it strike anybody else as frustrating as heck when the mayor of Slave Lake was on and he kept touting how he's in "Conservative country" and yet is complaining about his MLA? So then he starts in on the
recall legislation and how they dont have a way to remove him etc. First off, who did he have in mind to replace him? After all, he's in "Conservative country". Does he think anyone who would replace him, if under the UCP, is going to be any more dedicated to doing the job and
representing their constituents? Does he pay attention to the way the government has represented itself in any other district in the province, ESPECIALLY in the rural communities? and he's what, expecting something different? Then you add in that the guy moved into the town, as
per the mayor, shortly before the election and sold the council on his dedication to working for the area etc etc.

I don't know, maybe it's me but all this pride in being a Conservative or living in "Conservative country" seems like a illuminated dunce cap to me. And for the
record, this comment isn't even based on partisanship. The above questions highlight a complete and utter lack of thought. The fire had more fuel added to it when Jespo mentioned that he had heard one of the best MLA's they had in the area was the woman who proceeded this
schmuck but wasn't re-elected despite the job she did because she was NDP. Then Jespo mentioned that he thought/thinks she'll end up being a senator. Pretty high praise to accomplish that, at least based on merits alone.

It's any wonder those who don't fall into the
polluted mindset of Conservatism end up so frustrated. There is no reasoning, there is no logic and an absence of middle ground. They'll continue to vote for an ineffective, absent, dismissive clown because they get to keep their "Conservative badge" and if any other
alternative comes around, on the premise that it isn't blue, they'll have no use for it. Ridiculous.

The old saying holds true again. You make your bed, you sleep in it. The trick in life is to learn from your mistakes......orrrrr you can keep "winning" by chasing the badge.
Thanks for hearing me out. That was therapeutic.
