Received this from a conservative Republican Marine hero I served with in Iraq (paraphrased):
Thanks for standing up for what is right Seth. The man has gone too far for a long time but today he finally went to the point where even most Republicans understand exactly how vile what he did is for our country.
This is not what you, I, and a lot of others risked our lives for. This today was an embarrassment, and only has helped embolden our enemies to continue to attack us as they see the unraveling of the fabric of the nation happening like this.
I’m proud of you and all the others in that building today for standing up for what is right... unfortunately, it took something of this magnitude for a lot of them however to get their shit together and publicly now not support this.

I reminded him that what I did here today, by being here, was a walk in the park compared to what we did in Iraq. But the stakes are higher. Much higher. The entire world is watching.
