I don't know if you saw, or knew about, the video of the woman being shot and bleeding out in the Capitol building today. Don't go looking - you won't miss anything. But their reaction is very telling to the level of care they offer their compatriots: fucking nothing.
They clearly had no plan in place for anyone getting hurt. Which says a lot about their mindset. They didn't expect any resistance. They figured if anyone got hurt it would be them doing the hurting.
They didn't have medics. Nobody called for one - clearly nobody had one, or had planned for needing one. Which makes sense, if you're riding high on privilege and entitlement and have been inculcated with a lack of concern for anyone else.
So she gets shot, and they're scrambling - they don't know what to do. Nobody thought of this. Nobody has any medic training. They start screaming at each other, she's been shot, she's been fucking shot. Nobody does anything.
They get her lying down and they shout a lot about her being shot, and - that's it. They get a light on her and just.. watch.
The naivete involved is breathtaking. Clearly nobody even considered this as a possibility. Clearly their exceptionalism would protect them.

They could learn that direct action in the States is dangerous, and that they need to watch each other's backs, but I don't think they will. I think it'll make them more aggressive and paranoid. That's all they know how to do. It's their one trick. Rage more.
I don't have a tidy conclusion to this thread. I don't have a moral. Just this observation. They brought weapons but no first aid. They thought privilege would protect them. And she committed suicide by cop to, I don't know, own the libs. It's so fucking stupid.
While I have your attention - wear a mask and be excellent to each other. These are rough fucking times. Do what you can to make them easier.
