I cannot possibly begin to explain the heartbreak, rage, & sadness—but unfortunately not shock—of watching today’s events. Sadly some of us have thought/feared that this day would ultimately come. Here we are. 1/4
For those of us who grew up & came of age working in the Capitol—with a sense of duty & honor to do so— today was thoroughly sickening. My sincere hope is that those who rampaged this institution & the people who truly care to defend it are held accountable for their crimes. 2/4
On the precipice of an upcoming inauguration, one can only hope that the disgusting events that we all witnessed today will remind us of Abraham Lincoln's first Inaugural Address. 3/4
