A coup is when random people show up to a building and are allowed to enter and fuck around for a few hours by the very armed agents of the state that they supposedly want to coup.

Everyone knows that during the 1973 coup in Chile, the armed guards defending Allende stopped to open the door and take selfies with the soldiers storming the presidential palace

Who can forget the 2019 Bolivia coup where protesters demanded that the president and 5 other people in the line of succession from his party resign until the presidency conveniently landed on a fascist opposition figure. Oh wait no that was the literal military, oops.

One of my favourites was the 1953 Iran coup, where a mob stormed the legislature and walked around for a bit, and then the Prime Minister was forced to resign.
Oh wait no, that was actually a long-planned collaboration between the CIA, MI6 and local reactionaries, my mistake.

What about the 2002 Venezuela coup, where protestors stormed the presidential palace and walked around for a bit until the president resigned?
Oh wait, he was actually violently detained by rogue military elements as the coupists literally tore apart the constitution. oops.
