This comes off as a lot of politicians and other elites taking things for granted as they happened over the summer. They felt lax enough over watching protests over the summer destroy shit away from them that they were unprepared for people coming up to the doors and that-

We had folks crying out for everything to stop around us but politicians and celebs cheered it on, saying it 'needed to happen' but they weren't here. They were somewhere else watching as our streets were on fire and our homes were busted up and no one had any sort of leadership.
People were angry, many of them rightfully so, but the combination of anger and 0 guidance and goals resulted in nothing changing except a bunch of smirking fat cats acting like they were 'with us'.
