Okay, so a thing I learned today is that if you're a trans man and you put "male" on certain job applications, college applications, etc., someone is going to ask for paperwork that proves you registered for Selective Service (aka The Draft) at 18.

Which...you likely didn't.
Trans men do not have to register for the draft. "Individuals who are born female and changed their gender to male are not required to register." Which, cool. But that doesn't stop employers/colleges/etc. from asking. https://www.sss.gov/register/who-needs-to-register/#p7
BUT apparently there is a process by which you can ask the government for a Letter and the Letter is what you will then shove at people when they ask. I guess! I am sharing this with you even though we just learned it today. https://www.sss.gov/verify/sil/
IN OTHER NEWS, it would be REALLY NICE if forms made clear whether the "Gender?" question means "what you identify as" or "what the government says you are, because there will be paperwork depending on your answer". 😭
Yeah, it's........it's something I'm a little worried about for the future, not gonna lie. https://twitter.com/brewergnome/status/1346955142793486336
Oh, yay, it's like an auto-outing when you apply for federal student aid. https://twitter.com/arye927/status/1346957773246849025
