We're just over a year into Johnson's horrific clown-show. There's no real dispute: this is the most corrupt, most callous, most lethally dogmatic regime we've seen in recent times. It's literally killing us in our tens of thousands. 1
Every day new horror stories: lies about contracts for mates, lies about testing, lies about PPE, lies about vaccinations, lies about deaths. The lying is compulsive and universal, as if lying were now government policy. 2
Johnson appears periodically, perhaps believing his trademarked tousled-haired-toff routine is still selling: it isn’t. He will be the most detested figure in UK history in 12 months. 3
The country burns, the virus allowed to run out of control, families suddenly facing tragedy, NHS on the brink of calamity, jobs and livelihoods destroyed, economic ruin. 4
We had a choice in Dec 2019. The choice was a decent socialist or more and worse hard-right demagoguery: overwhelmingly we opted for the latter, for smooth-talking Eton con-artists. 5
The media (with a tiny handful of honourable exceptions) did everything they could to facilitate this by conducting a four-year smearing war against the left. BBC did it, Guardian did it, they all did it. Just about every commentator and opinion columnist did it. 6
Those same commentators and opinion columnists now wring their dainty hands about the nightmare we are all living through. They catalogue the lies, the corruption, the maddening stupidity and venality and filth of it. 7
And somehow, they never feel any obligation to say sorry. ‘Sorry, we got it wrong and we’ll try to learn from it. We won’t do it again.’ 8
They’d do it again tomorrow. The pitchforks are just resting, they’re ready to be picked up at a moment’s notice should an outbreak of socialism look like it’s imminent again. 9
They’ll do it every time. They’ll do it even knowing the horrifying consequences, the grieving families and ruined lives. They’d do it if the alternative was Nazism. They’d do it if the alternative was death, which for many it has been. 10
They all keep their jobs, they all have their books to promote at Hay-on-Wye, they all continue to enjoy their pampered, gilded existences. They literally don’t give a shit what the consequences of their actions are, because they don’t face any. They’ll be fine. Always. 11
Wringing their pretty little hands at the horrors they unleashed, like arsonists bewailing the smoke and flames and cries of anguish, they simply continue, as if they had no part in setting the fire. 12
Amnesia UK, where the past can be simply let go of, like a child’s balloon, and those who perpetrated the lies and the smears just pretend there was never a balloon at all. 13
The commentariat in the UK should be on their knees begging our forgiveness, telling us they’ve changed, they’ve learned - instead we get the same arrogance and ignorance and bigotry that got us into this mess. 14
Toxic, unaccountable, acting like little emperors, these dangerous and hateful liars are immune from consequences and can’t be reformed. Like the virus, they are with us forever. Unlike the virus, there is no vaccination the UK electorate can be given against them. 15
Even knowing what we now know, they’d do it again, tomorrow, and the UK would vote for the lethal Eton con-artists again, and then they’d wring their hands again… No matter what the alternative was, they’d do it again.

Let’s never forget that. 16
