Today's attempted coup in Congress began with Trump saying "If you don't fight like hell, you're not going to have a country anymore," and then telling the crowd to head to the Capitol to give Republican lawmakers the message.

And then there was @RepMoBrooks, the Republican congressman from Alabama, shouting to the crowd: "Today is the day American patriots start taking down names and kicking ass!" https://twitter.com/atrupar/status/1346823072612036608?s=20
In retrospect, this is quite a statement from Trump at the rally that led to the storming of Congress:

"We're gathered together in the heart of our nation's capitol for one very, very basic and simple reason: to save our democracy."
