For decades, neighbors of industrial hog operations (IHOs), who are disproportionately communities of color in NC, have been subjected to stench, noxious gases, particulate pollution, flies, buzzards, adverse health effects & environmental damages stemming from these operations.
Recently, a three-judge Wake Superior Court panel dismissed constitutional challenges to the 2017 and 2018 amendments to North Carolina’s “Right to Farm” Act., deciding that individuals suffering cannot sue industrial swine operations for nuisance. http://ow.ly/ycy050D1Meq 
“While we are extremely disappointed in the superior court’s failure to uphold the NC Constitution, we appeal to the higher court to ensure justice is served,” said NCEJN's Naeema Muhammad.

This issue is directly tied to the upcoming threat of biogas. It’s being proposed as a “green” solution to the harmful effects of factory farming. But it does not reduce harm to local communities and lets the hog business continue business as usual. https://ncejn.org/biogas/
