I'm just looking for bird feeders as I plan the garden structure and layout and... oh my. There are some interesting image choices being made, eh?
Let's start on a positive. These are feeders hanging, in-situ, being accessed by actual birds that are actually present in that environment. I know, I was shocked, too.
The realism doesn't last long, however. What does that hummingbird think it's doing, there? Maybe there's an appropriate feeder, just out of shot. And what's with the water droplets - are we looking through a window at a feeder hanging in mid-air?
Amazingly, the photographer managed to capture exactly the same species in exactly the same positions and poses, for a second photo. Amazing!
The likenesses here are uncanny. This must be a chunky feeder if it's to scale, too.
It's an in-situ shot! But wait. Someone left the cover on the feeder and forgot to fill it with seed. Oh boy. Those birds are going to be piiiiiiiissed.
Little did you know that at certain times of the year, birds become low-resolution and two-dimensional.
Micro-macaw alert!
The family were delighted to see a miniature parrot and two yellow blobs using their ENORMOUS FEEDER.
Is that a macaw-sized hummingbird or a hummingbird-sized macaw? A banana would have been useful, for scale.
This feeder and whatever golden delights it contains are clearly the most flexible options available. Look, it's another hummingbird!
It also satisfies parrots.
And, best of all - kingfishers! Whodathunkit?
This is clearly the best feeder around. Bear in mind that you'll need a pretty sizeable tree, or repurposed girder to hang it.
Another monstrous feeder. It's got to be going ton 60 cm tall and 120 cm + wide. Only to be used on the side of your similarly monstrous fishtank.
Somthing, somthing, sympatry.
The bird on the right has seen better days, eh? The way the Blue Tit is looking at it, I think we can put two and two together. There's a history, there.
Hey, someone put a bit of effort into making it look like those blue birds are on the feeder. What specie... That's a bloody recoloured robin! Good grief. I...
WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THE BIRD ON THE RIGHT?
A Siskin takes a bath while a Cardinal remains blissfully anaware of the Coal Tit coming in to wallop it from behind.
The Siskin continues to bathe throughout the year. In winter it's joined by a Masked Weaver and a Bluebird, who've travelled far to hear the Siskin's wise words. "Wash your feet", it says.
Another stupid bird falls for the 'no seed in the feeder' gag. Haw!
It's moving-in day and the housemates can't figure out how best to rota garbage duty.
Hummingbird vs seed, round 67. Seed uses 'wrong food type'. It's super effective!
I'm not sure what's more interesting, as a birder. The vibrant pink birb on the left or that the Bluebird is moving so fast that it's leaving an after-image.
This looks like something that would never happen, but I know enough people who've lost budgies to suspect that we've a small breeding flock nearby.
That's enough nonsense from me. I'll leave you with actual birds on actual feeders because if you fill them, they will come. You don't need Photoshop! Gagh!
