Helps has stood up for cops and the propertied at the violent expense of unhoused and working people enough times that I laugh at this idea that Sharmarke should resign.
If your test for whether one should resign is potentially breaking a health order and not setting a good example, Helps and every councillor but Isitt, and every cop who has laid hands on someone this year, should set their own example and do it first.

Those who hate the idea of the poor having dignity will jump on this issue as an opportunity to rid council of someone they think is a threat to their entrenched power. They see a tall dark refugee saying we shouldn’t eat the poor and they shudder.
So they’ll use every banal legalistic, moral, and polite argument to say that Dubow needs to resign. Fight back against it, it’s fake. They don’t ask other officials to resign for the far worse they do.
So many public officials failed us this year and have death on their hands.
