Protesters (mob, as BBC reporter just termed btw) have indeed breached the inside of the building.
Since every major US intelligence agency signed off a statement in 2016 that Russia’s goal was to destabilise faith in democracy.. I think having a President retweeting Qanon and such was not optimal in hindsight.

We’re now two hours in and protesters are still inside and outside the building and all down the surrounding streets. Protesters are still breaching building by literally climbing the walls.
There is no chance Biden’s win will be certified today (or soon) - protesters are obvs still in building, and have been in Senator and staff offices etc, everything is going to need manually sweeping.

3 and a half hours later, the US Capitol Police say they have secured the building. (Who knows what the night will bring in the surrounding area).

Oh my god, BBC News just aired footage of a lone black police officer being chased by a large bunch of MAGA guys within the Capitol building, some with confederate flags, until they reached the Chamber.
I think the perfect way to end the thread is showing people leaving without being arrested, because we live in a consequence free world nowadays.
