There is no moral high ground in games of power.

I don’t have answers to fix this system. I don’t know how to balance the realities of suffering and death with the limitations of people and governments.

What I do know is the way of Jesus rarely looks like the ways of the world.
So while I can’t fix broken systems and I can’t really even step out of them, I can still follow the way of Jesus.

I can still love God and love people.
And this love is not a benign, frivolous thing. It asks something of me. It requires sacrifice and humility and discomfort.
The way of Jesus is not easy. But it is the only one that can raise death to life.
