Each POTUS directly appoints about 4k people to work at the top levels of government. By my count, @JoeBiden has named about 1% of that number. Don't get caught up in who (either by gender or race) who is appointed here. Real systemic change . . .

requires a deep pipeline filled with well-qualified people. Appointments one, two, and three levels down in departments and agencies will tell the story of the next 20-30 years. Representation matters up and down the line, which is why I'm not trippin' on Merrick Garland.
I care at least as much about who is appointed as assoc., asst. or dep. secretaries. Today's underlings are tomorrows secretaries. Let's keep our eye on the ball and fill the pipeline.
