*Some* people seemed confused about my rage at Garland for AG, so let me put this where the goats can get it:
When you are in power BECAUSE black people put you there, then you pick an AG with a RECORD OF HOLDING POLICE ACCOUTNABLE. Not a milquetoast compromise white prosecutor.

You LISTEN to voices in the Black community, like @Sifill_LDF and @TheRevAl, when they meet with you and tell you to pick somebody who will SIGNLE to the Black community that you have their back against these police terrorists.
You understand that of ALL your cabinet picks, your AG is the one who has to HONOR the desperate protests in the streets that Trump spent the past year denigrated.
YOU PAY IT THE FUCK FORWARD
YOU PAY IT THE FUCK FORWARD
Garland. Does. NONE OF THIS. His nomination, right on the heels of Black people GIVING HIM THE POWER to nominate ANY AG available, is a slap in the goddamn face to... THE ACTUAL BASE of the Democratic Party.
Put another way: LOOK AT WHAT REPUBLICANS DO. Their AG picks are almost ALWAYS the most spitting racists they can FIND. They're AGs are always a base pick. Somebody to excite the base and prove to them that the GOP is on their side of the culture war.
The Garland pick is the EXACT OPPOSITE of that. Instead of rewarding the base, Biden is using it to placate moderates and institutionalists. He has no record on civil rights, and no record on standing up the police... who I'll remind you SHOOT US IN THE BACK AND FACE NO CHARGES.
Also, while we're here, I really don't appreciate people telling me to give Garland "a chance" when those people haven't actually READ HIS OPINIONS on issues with the police.
He's deferential to police power, almost uninformedly. WHICH IS NOT WHAT THE MOMENT DEMANDS.

ANYWAY... I like Gupta and Clarke and the rest of the team. This is how it's going to be with Biden for four years.
