The medieval man may have been a rough and staunch believer but he was not woke. The Medieval Uni had much more intellectual freedom than the modern ones; they discussed every topic, no matter how controversial it may have been. Including theology. Today, that's unthinkable...
Meanwhile, the postmodern woke man resembles much more with the Gnostics, Cathars, and other Medieval heretics who rejected common sense and human nature instead embraced a type of irrational and emotionalist understanding of the World.
The Medieval man was conscious of his sins; his hope of redemption was in God. Meanwhile, the heretics just as the Woke, reject this, they aim to eradicate what they consider wrong in Human nature and create the New Man who doesn't sin.
That's why the Woke-ists, aiming to create a New Human, and a new sinless society, silence everyone who dares to think critically. This, no matter context or arguments, if it's considered offensive or politically incorrect then it's forbidden, unforgiven mortal sin.
Therefore, we can see similarities of Gnosticism, Wokeism and totalitarian ideologies like Nazism and Communism. They all have the same goal, though with different visions, to play the role of God and change what's unchangeable: Human Nature.
P.S. By Gnostics, in this context, I mean the Medieval ones, not the Ancient. Perhaps it would have been better to use the word neo-Gnostics, but unfortunately I cannot edit the tweets.
