I hate shame as a political tool because in my tumblr days I saw it used on people and most people either became idpol-obsessed sycophants of whichever huckster was currently speaking, or anti-woke assholes. Also, the former became the latter, eventually, usually.
Your brain eventually reasserts itself, and you exit out of the idpol cult of race reduction. Unfortunately, people don't often exit where they should - into class analysis mixed with an appreciation for the power of identity. Shaming will cause people to exit into reaction.
Shame gets you eager sycophants in the short term, but die-hard enemies who believe you've wronged them in the long term. Don't shame your political opponents, if your goal is to win them over. And your goal should be to win them over. We are fighting a war!
