Thread: Testosterone Boosting Supplements

So you should know that supplements are always the last thing you look at to help optimize testosterone.

You first focus on:

Fat loss
Sleep
Diet
Resistance Training

Once you have these nailed you look at supplementing nutritional gaps
Vitamin D3

Unless you are spending multiple hours in the sun daily, chance is you are D3 deficient.

D3 is a steroid hormone. Multiple studies have shown D3 supplementation increases T

A 12 month study saw male T levels increase by as much as 20%!

Zinc

It's estimated that 1/3 of the global population are deficient in Zinc & deficiency is one of the leading causes of low testosterone levels.

One study showed that men supplementing with Zinc for six months, nearly doubled testosterone levels. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8875519
Iodine

If you don’t get much in the way of fish & seafood in your diet, you’re likely deficient in iodine.

Iodine is crucial for thyroid health, the thyroid regulates hormone production & if you don’t have a healthy operating thyroid

Testosterone production will suffer!
Omega 3

It’s believed that Omega 3 aids testosterone production due to reducing inflammation

This enables the testes & other areas of the body responsible for T production to perform more efficiently

Just remember to opt for triglyceride form supplements
Ashwagandha

Stress & the stress hormone cortisol is one of the biggest killers of T production

Ashwagandha is very effective for reducing stress/ cortisol levels

In studies supplementing with 600mg per day is shown to increase testosterone & strength in resistance training.
Vitamin A

Vitamin A deficiency negatively impacts the leydig cells in the testes & can cause them to function poorly.

Leydig cells are responsible for testosterone production so damage to them can cause deficiency

Vitamin A & Iron though to be a potent combo as well!
Mucuna Pruriens

Linked to improved testosterone production & male fertility

It’s believed the increase in T, is due to lowering prolactin levels.

High prolactin inhibits T production, libido, &erectile strength. It can also be the cause of man boobs! https://www.fertstert.org/article/S0015-0282(08)03935-6/fulltext#sec3.2
D-Aspartic Acid

Naturally occurring amino acid

Believed to boost T due to increasing follicle-stimulating hormone & luteinizing hormone.

There have been a few different studies that back this, DAA is also believed to help improve sperm health!
