To all you “critics” out there, just because you watched a three hour video essay on why something is “garbage” doesn’t mean you need to go around telling people who actually enjoy it that they are wrong for doing so.
This isn’t about any specific video, it’s just venting about a trend I’ve noticed where people will reply to people discussing things they enjoy with shit like “but it’s bad tho” and proceed to bring up multi-hour critiques too.
Also, I don’t have a problem with comprehensive multi-hour video essays as a format, I think there is some merit to it, but the problem is some people just accept them as 100% factual just because they are so in-depth and act like fans need to counter every point made in them.
Lastly, let me tell you from experience, passionate fans of something are very well aware of the problems and flaws of what they are passionate about, it’s just that the enjoyment they get out of it surpasses those flaws for them.
