This week close to 700,000 students across Alberta are again adapting to learning at-home. There is no question the ongoing pandemic and dealing with change has put a strain on students’ and families’ mental health and emotional well-being. 1/4 #abed #ableg
That’s why AB's government provided $53 million to make it easier to access mental health supports:
•Expanding Kids Help Phone
•Partnering with http://Jack.org  to create a resource hub
•Expanding access to the Mental Health Helpline & Addiction Helpline 2/4 #abed
This funding is in addition to $556 million in specialized learning support grant for schools as part of the new funding model, in which mental health programming is a core component. 3/4 #abed #ableg
The school re-entry plan includes a list of resources and information about supporting students and staff mental health. I also encourage you to visit: http://www.albertahealthservices.ca/HelpinToughTimes 4/4 #abed #ableg
