With lockdown restrictions in place again, it’s important to remain vigilant against scammers and fraudsters. There are a number of scams circulating which exploit the uncertainty of the pandemic, try to cause you to panic and give away your details or to pay for fake services. https://twitter.com/BBCNews/status/1346835052500545537
These scams might include:
Fake text messages or emails asking you to book a Covid-19 test or vaccination through a web link where you’re asked to pay. Always use verified government or NHS websites when booking your test or vaccination ➡️ https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-getting-tested (1)
WhatsApp or text messages telling you that your banking app has recently been added to a new device and asking you to click a link if you think this action wasn’t you. (2)
Emails advertising DIY Covid-19 remedies such as medication, supplements or enhanced masks. Always follow the government and #NHS advice http://ow.ly/VKmh50D1uFe  (3)
Messages or emails from supermarket chains offering you a premium shopping slot for their online store. Supermarkets' online shopping services can all be booked directly through their official websites. They will never ask you to go to a separate page to enter payment details (4)
