How #SeVan ( #Gokcha) lake happens to be an "Armenian sea" if yellow means "tatars" ( #Azerbaijanis) and blue - #Armenians ?
The #Map is of #1886...
P.S. And why main Armenian inhabited city of the region is called #Norbayazet (i.e. New Beyazid - settlers coming from Beyazid)?

#Vayotsdzor or with its old name - Daralagez. Again the map of 1886, again all in yellow (Tatars- #Azerbaijanis).
1855 data: 3 districts - Yayici (17 Muslim villages + 1 mixed out of 24), Mavaz-khatun (5 Muslim vil. out of 9) and Daralagez (55 Muslim vil.+1 mixed out of 70)

So, in #Daralagez as per 1855 in total there were 103 villages, 77 out of them being Azerbaijani (Muslim Turks (and Kurds)), 2 villages - mixed and the rest - 24 - Armenian. Nowadays, no any Muslim village left in #Daralagez (renamed to #Vayotsdzor)...

How many out of those Armenians of #Daralagez were really local even in 1855? Minority. Look at the data listing professions in #Daralagez split by nations. #Armenians are split to locals and newcomers. The ratio of professions among newcomers vs. local Arm. is 3.5 to 1 (168:50)
More interesting fact is that there was an enormous amount of "Zurnachi" among #Armenians in #Daralagez but almost no #Hunters. Why? In order to be a good hunter you need to know the area ;)
Compare to 11 hunters among #Azerbaijanis

District of #Erivan, map of 1886. Look at yellow area (Azerbaijanis). 1897 Cense: 58% #Azerbaijanis (53.5% Turks + 5% Kurds) vs. 38% #Armenians in the district (excluding #Erivan city; city itself - 49% vs. 49% in 1897)...
Where are #Azerbaijanis now?... Ethnic cleansing...

Similarly, marz #Ararat of nowadays #Armenia is made up of #Erivan district excluding #Erivan city and north-west part of former #Erivan district (which used to be the part of #Kirkhbulagh mahal). Marz #Ararat, however exactly matches #Zangibasar district (consisting of 3 mahals)
3 mahals of #Zangibasar district were:
1) Zangibasar (1855 data: 19 Muslim vil. out of total 27)
2) Garnibasar (16 Muslim, 18 Mixed and 14 Arm villages) + 12 vil. of nomads "Milli" (listed separately)
3) Vedibasar (23 villages, all Muslim)
Total (110): 70 Muslim, 18 Mixed, 22 Arm

Marz #Armavir of #Armenia. Consists mostly of following mahals of Sardarabad district (1855 data):
1) #Sardarabad (16 Armenian villages, 9 Azerbaijani)
2) Hajibayram (or Saadli) - 7 Muslim villages (0 Arm)
3) Southern part of Qarpi mahal (in total - 23 Arm, 15 Muslim, 1 mixed)
4)

3) Southern part of Qarpi mahal (in total - 23 Arm, 15 Muslim, 1 mixed)
4)
#Armavir part 2:
Also, there were 10 villages of Kurdish Muslim nomads which were mentioned separately (outside mahals) + 2 Yezidi villages
*Qarpi is split between marz #Armavir (south) and #Aragatsotn (north)
**Hajibayram mahals centre was Kheyirbekli (far south-west on the map)

Marz #Aragatsotn:
As already mentioned it includes northern part of mahal Qarpi (1855 data: total for mahal 23 Armenian, 15 Azerbaijani and 1 mixed village)
Besides that it includes following see part 2) mahals plus the surroundings of the mount #Alagöz (renamed to Aragats):

Aksakhli (Akhsaqqal): 14 Muslim villages, 1 Armenian
Seyidli: 5 Muslim vil., 1 Mixed, 2 Arm
Talin: 12 Muslim, 6 Arm
Abaran: 30 Arm
Thus #Azerbaijanis used to be majority in whole #Aragatsotn (excluding Abaran)

#Shirak marz of #Armenia: Consists of the former sultanate of #Shuragel (mostly) and of #Agbaba district of Kars vilayet.
Main population of #Shuragel were #Qarapapaqs who escaped (90%) to Turkey and Iran between 1805-1828.
Unlike it, #Agbaba had #Qarapapaq majority by 1989

#Shirak part 2: #Agbaba had 91% of #Turkish ( #Azerbaijani) majority at 1926 Cense ( #Qarapapaq and #Othman Turks), 70% in 1939 and 68% in 1979.
The rest of #Shuragel was settled by #Armenians after between 1805-1828 and massively after 1828. #Qarapapaqs left to #Kars and #Sulduz

P. 3: #Agbaba ( #Amasia) is the green spot at the far north-west of the map (dark green for Sunni, light green for Shia). The former #Shuragel is #Gyumri #Artik #Agin and "Gukasyan". #Budag Sultan from #Artik was the ruler of #Qarapapaqs (80%+ in #Shuragel 1805) before they left
Marz #Lori - the "most" #Armenian one (just trolling
) consists of:
1) former sultanate of #Pambak (Muslim majority before #Russian empire invasion (1801)
2) Lori plateau ( #Vanadzor)
3) Southern #Borchali distance (in Soviet times #Kalinino and #Alaverdi ( #Allahverdi) districts

)

#Lori part 3:
Besides #Pambak there was also Southern #Borchali or Mountaneous part #Borchali distance where there was also significant outflow of Muslim population. Still, in the west part of it #Azerbaijanis kept their majority until very lately. Ethnic map of 1886 - red circle

#Lori part 4: In #Soviet times that #Azerbaijani populated part of was making up north-west of #Kalinino district, where was a big #Russian minority (1886 map highlighted with rose color (yellow - as usual #Azeri, blue - #Armenian, light yellow - #Greek) living to the south...
#Lori part 5: Even before 1988 in #Kalinino north-west of district was #Azerbaijani populated (see the map with red highlights for 1979 Cense data; red shows #Azeri majority. Map with green highlighted areas shows the same at 1886 (dark- Sunni, light - Shia).. See the difference
#Lori part 6: #Alaverdi district. Do you think it was #Armenian? Ehmm, no, light yellow stands for #Greeks

Besides that, yes #Vanadzor ( #Kirovakan or formerly #Karakilis) had #Armenian majority by 1855 (18 out of 20 villages) but #Vanadzor people came after 1830 from Turkey

Besides that, yes #Vanadzor ( #Kirovakan or formerly #Karakilis) had #Armenian majority by 1855 (18 out of 20 villages) but #Vanadzor people came after 1830 from Turkey
#Lori part 7: #Vanadzor people came from Erzurum, Bayazid and other regions of Turkey. It's not me but #Russian and #Armenian sources who say that...
To finalize about #Lori marz I can only add some statistics of former #Pambak sultanate by 1855 ( #Azerbaijanis were still present)
To finalize about #Lori marz I can only add some statistics of former #Pambak sultanate by 1855 ( #Azerbaijanis were still present)
#Lori part 8: By 1855 in #Pambak mahal there were 30 villages in total, 20 of them being #Armenian, 8 - #Azerbaijani (27%) and 2 - #Russian. And these all given the outflow of #Muslim and inflow of #Armenian population in the first half of 19th century...
P.S. on #Lori and #Shirak. Although #Alexandropol ( #Gyumri) distance (i.e. #Shuragel - #Pambak) was mostly #Armenian populated by 1855, almost all the villages had #Turkish names. Likely by 1855 #Armenians were busy with settling #Qarapapaq villages and had no time to rename them!
