PROTECT vs PREPARE:
It is clear to us based on the survey findings that COVID-19 has had a measurable adverse impact on teens’ mental health. 61% of teens said the pandemic has increased their feelings of loneliness.

MANY LEADERS:
Cancel extracurriculars, add more screen time.
PROTECT vs PREPARE:
Students are "falling behind."
Students are "struggling with mental health."

Adults Response:
Limited resources or education, for students, to help develop the social/emotional skills to overcome challenges. Just "be lenient," while increasing screen time.
PROTECT vs PREPARE
I'm no expert, but there are a lot of experts out there. We (adults) do not seem to be listening to them.

As @TimElmore explained, leaders are choosing "worry over wisdom." As adults, "we risked too little, we rescued too quickly, and we raved too easily."
PROTECT vs PREPARE
Leaders are in the ultimate lose-lose scenario. They can't make everyone happy. There is no perfect answer. We must continue to take precautions with the pandemic.

With that said, we also need to PREPARE young people to handle adverse situations. Develop GRIT!
