Saints QB Coach Joe Lombardi was OC in Detroit and lost his job because he didn’t put enough into the run game. Could he come to Miami as a passing coordinator, with Eric Studesville bumped to run coordinator? Miami’s coaches aren’t beholden to traditional structure.
I wonder if Trent Dilfer’s opinion will be sought on this hire. I realize the Dolphins attempted to dispel the notion Chan Gailey was hired because of Fitzpatrick, but come on. Seriously, come on.

Without getting too in depth about it, some assistants that have interested me for a number of years, for a number of reasons, include James Urban, Mike Groh, and Mike Kafka. I’m not saying they’d be system matches with what’s already in place. Just potential quality coaches.
