I've spoken to 100+ international operations experts, labor law attorneys, and HR specialists.

What does it take to employ the best people, wherever they live?

[ a thread ] 🌎🏠📍
⚙️ Local branches: Before you can hire, governments require an in-country entity that they hold accountable for taxes and compliance.

You can buy or build this, but building isn't fun and buying isn't cheap.
🏦 Banks: You'll need local accounts, and each requires a minimum balance of working capital.

You'll have to fly out and spend some time, as most banks won't meet their due diligence standard if you're in a remote location.
👩‍💼 Lawyers: You'll need attorneys to draft employment agreements, decipher and monitor labor laws and regulations, and ensure data privacy compliance.

You can be fined up to 4% of your global revenue for not complying 😅
🧳 Finance director: You'll need to hire local financial directors to manage each entity's books, tax registrations, and corporate taxes.

You're placing huge trust in these people. Hope no funny business goes on here 💨 🪞
🕺 HR consultants: Every entity needs someone dedicated to supporting employees, administer country-mandated benefits (at minimum), run local background checks, and process payroll.
💰 Cost: You need at least $80,000 to set up. For one country, only.

⏰ Time: By the time you have the compliance figured out, months (if not years) have passed. Your talented candidates are long gone.
💫 If you're trying to hire the best, wherever they live, you'd normally have to do this 100x over. This onerous, expensive, foreign process applies in every country you hire from.
Enter Panther ( @withpanther), the global payroll platform that helps companies hire anyone, anywhere, without worrying about local laws, complicated tax systems, or entities.

Everything is one-click. We take care of the compliance for you. No local anything needed.
The (only) positive consequence of the pandemic is that remote work has become the default, and the world is much more interconnected as a result.

Build the global, remote company you dream of. We’ll do the heavy-lifting @withpanther.
