However, blood cancer patients vary in their response to COVID-19, with many unable to shake off the virus for up to 90 days after the first signs of infection. This is around *five* times longer than average. 2/4
Dr Sheeba Irshad, one of our scientists at @KingsCollegeLon, said, “While we need to remain cautious, our study shows that many patients with solid tumours can mount a good response to the virus, develop antibodies, and hopefully resume cancer treatment as soon as possible.” 3/4
