There are 12 373 Law Firms registered with the @CouncilPractice in South Africa
There are 27 223 Admitted Attorneys of the High Court. Each Attorney is allowed to register a maximum of 3 Candidate Attorneys at a time (provided they are practicing under a law firm)
This means every 2 years, 81 669 LLB Graduates can be employed as Candidate Attorneys. Yet year after year, the number of Unemployed LLB Graduates stays increasing rapidly
But let’s not forget that there are also about 26 Universities that produce LLB Graduates. The biggest problem is either capacity or money in fighting unemployment. What could be the solution to this? @CouncilPractice @sasseta1 @BLAsc_NEC
