We only have capacity in Public Health to manage outbreaks in places like healthcare facilities, nursing homes.

We are not getting to all workplace case contact tracing.

This has to be part of this decision. https://twitter.com/Philip_Ryan/status/1346788339962306562
I am leaving contact tracing in environments like shops, workplaces, planes etc. on the board as we don't have time.
I am focussing on vulnerable settings where people might die if they contract Covid.

It's the Public Health equivalent of ventilating a patient in the corridor.
We are entirely relying on the public to do the right thing.

Stay at home.
Call your GP if you get sick.

@newschambers
We need the public to fire break this.

We simply can't.

There are 5 Specialists in Public Health in my department who are trained in Public Health decision making.

At 700 odd cases a day with about 3 elements on each to risk assess, the task is far beyond us.
We have been running a sprint for 10 months with minimal service stability or consistency in staffing.

There isn't 10 more months of that in our staff. They are starting to resign.
I'm saying all this publicly because in those settings you will not be advised you are a close contact of a case, unless the case tells you directly.

This is why you must treat everyone you meet as a possible Covid.
