Morgan was born in Dublin and brought up in Rush , where his father was from. His mother was from England.
Eoin Morgan made his international debut for Ireland at the age of 19 on 5 August 2006 at the European Championships against Scotland in that match Morgan scored 99 before he was run out (Ireland won that match by 85 runs)
It was the first time in ODI history that a player had been dismissed for 99 on debut. After this match he never looked back and kept on breaking records and in the process made many other records.
Morgan from the age of 13 wanted to play cricket for England , his family had no problem with it rather they supported him in his journey. Since her mother was English he had held a British Passport since birth.
In May 2007 Morgan was named as one of the twelfth men for Lord's test against West Indies and came on for Matthew Hoggard. Since 2008 he played in many tours for England Lions in which he performed well.
It was announced in April 2009 that Morgan was in England's 30-man provisional squad for the 2009 ICC World Twenty20.
In May 2009 he was named in England's 14-man squad to face West Indies in a three-match ODI series and the 15-man squad for the World Twenty20.

He made his debut for England in the second ODI (first ODI was abandoned due to rain) he also played in the third ODI but could not impress much with the bat as he was sent to bat late in the innings making scores of 2 and 6 not out, but he was praised for his athletic fielding.
Who knew that this boy would lead England to their First World Cup Glory and would go on to become one of the greatest Limited Overs Captain of England.
Morgan has played 16 tests, 242 ODIs and 97 T20Is in his international career ( for Ireland and England) in which he scored 700 runs in test @ 30.43 , 7598 runs in ODIs @ 39.57 and 2278 runs in T20Is @ 30.37 (in total 10,576 international runs).
