Woke up this morning, came on Twitter to see a large number of people feeling like they’re struggling, so I’m gonna see if I can put a smile (even just a brief one) back on your faces. LORD OF THE RINGS IN THE AMBULANCE SERVICE - A THREAD:
The mental preparation it feels like everyone is going through to get themselves to work every shift.
When someone has brought in the Crispy Creme doughnuts and you’re trying to behave after gaining a few pounds after Christmas.
When an out of area manager tries to tell you what to do.
When the job comes in that your doing an ECMO transfer.
Me literally 20 minutes after eating breakfast
When you’ve found your pen after losing it for half the shift. YOU CANNOT BEAT A GOOD WRITER.
When you come into work and get told there’s over 200 jobs outstanding.
When an elderly patient thinks they’re falling when they aren’t and will literally grab at anything even though they’re not going anywhere.
When someone tries to steal your raptors...
When you aren’t getting the whole story as to why you’ve been sent to someone.
How I look on my fifth night shift on the bounce.
“Can’t you just take me to hospital for a check up?”
When someone asks how you manage to keep so calm all the time.
When you fly through a housing estate at 0300 with your lights and sirens on.
Me looking at the needle on a 24G cannula.
AND A POLITE REMINDER FOR YOU ALL.
