the paper also recommends tourism as a means of financing PAs - yet the #COVID pandemic has made clear the folly of basing #conservation on #neoliberal models anchored in tourism - who actually benefits from those revenues and what happens when they are interrupted?

There is no indication of any consultation with communities that would be affected by plans to protect 30% - further marginalising those voices in conservation leads to unsustainable and unjust schemes. Conservationists can and must do better
