In SM, I came across a few posts mocking his qualification, some are also using his case to say that the results were tampered this time too!!
Then there were folks who blamed the 'unfair' reservation system...

..ok, at first, I believe, the country's reservation policy was adopted exactly to help people like Charan Brahma - he was candid about his background & education. I was greatly moved as well as inspired at the same time.
His selection is a grand success for the quota system...

...a guy who comes from a poor family, from a remote place that lacks basic infrastructure and belongs to a scheduled tribe that has been struggling for the past few decades for its identity - these are major hurdles - and he got the much needed push - nothing unfair there..
This is why the reservation system is still required in today's age. And Charan Brahma is not the only case, there were others too - who overcame such hurdles to taste triumph - Masi Topno, Dipawoli Kurmi and that hairdresser's son from Nagaon (sorry, I forgot his name)...
..I am pretty sure there will be many others like them.
Therefore to blame the reservation system or cry foul play is very unfair, to say the least. It's a case of sour grapes, I think.
Instead of blaming others, aspirants should learn a lesson from these candidates...

..work hard for the next exams & claim their spot in the prestigious civil services. They should shun any negativity because such attitude never helps.
