We're in lockdown until those at risk are vaccinated. Administering a first dose to 30 million has to become a single-minded national mission. The Govt may have ambition but lack a plan. Today we ( @InstituteGC) offered a blueprint to mass vaccination by March. Some highlights:
1. *Settings* - Use all able to deliver vaccines.
💊Every pharmacy that can, must. Currently they need capacity to handle 1000 doses a week. This should be lowered to 100.
🗳️Use @ElectoralCommUK expertise to identify venues - replacing booths & tiny pencils with fridges & vials.
3. *Systems* - Data is king. Two important things:
🛂Vaccines should be recorded in a Covid pass alongside test results - key to reopening the economy, hospitality and travel.
📶Dashboard - To maintain momentum, we call for a live dashboard that shows vaccines received vs target.
4. *Supply* There are more doses available if we have capacity to absorb them. There'll be 2m AZ a week by third week of January and a similar number from J&J in Feb. That's 4m a week. Easy to administer, they're the workhorses of our plan. We need to be ready for them.

It was co-authored by my brilliant colleagues @DanielSleat and @brianna_kmiller

Critically... it's not in the paper but alongside settings, staffing, systems and supply, I'd add another: leadership. Govt should learn from those who have it in bucketfuls.
