Opportunities lost... a mini-thread.

My personal and professional life brings me in regular contact with some of the categories of people that I see here on Twitter being feared, disrespected or just misunderstood and avoided - "strong women", the LGBTQI community, /
/ the "other" race, and so many others. In recently consulting with a powerful black businesswoman, one whose mere presence just electrifies the room, it struck me again how, as much as I share the anger and frustration at continuing efforts at excluding and marginalizing these /
/ "categories", how it's also quite sad and self-impoverishing for someone to choose to exclude such persons from their experience, from their education. To lose out on the sheer beauty and power of these "others", all based on some nebulous fear, hate or entitlement - /
/

- how immensely self-limiting, self-impoverishing. The lessons, the joy, the relationships that you choose not to have astounds me.

So, if this speaks to you - maybe today open up to such an "other". Sit with them, and see what you may be missing.
