1. Last night I participated in a current affairs show on Pakistan's official media channel where the killing of the 11 coal miners from the Hazara community was blamed on India, i.e. supporing Daesh in Pakistan via Afghanistan.
2. Though one doesn't need to go any further in judging the firvolity such arguments are, their implications are profound if rhetoric overwhelms the facts.
3. I understand the compulsion of some media anchors and local analysts in parroting the state narrative, however, analysts need not to become propagandists.
4. While blaming India left, right and centre for all forms of terrorism and anti-state violence in Pakistan, following the release of the dossier, may be expedient for the state and those who toe its narrative, we should not distort facts and mislead the public opinion.
5. This over-externalization of internal security failures is only going to worsen the situation. It is a cruel joke with the deceased and their families.
6. The security forces which have been in Balochistan and control everything from politics to borders and CPEC to security, one should ask them about their failure to detect and eliminate the local networks behind such incidents.
7. For a min, let's suppose, "India is stoking troubles of all kinds" in Balochistan, still, those carrying out these attacks are local networks. A more honest and thorough overview existing internal security framework is urgently required.
