The whole age discourse if OnlyFans should be for 21 instead of 18 is complex, and boils down to the fact we must eliminate the reasons (poverty, lack of income for rent/tuition/healthcare/bills/childcare) an 18 year old might struggle with having only a vanilla $8/hr job.

Young parents, queer folks without supportive parents, people escaping a codependent or abuse relationship— might see SW as a reasonable option to leave danger, and raising the age is gatekeeping a viable source of income.

That being said, it should be encouraged to let young sex workers just starting know the reality about things that come with SW— stigma, shame, isolation, & being at the mercy of harmful legislation. If someone wants to enter, they should be welcome, with honest support!
