The reason this was the subject was because of #DisruptText She literally said that she made the connection between the "classics" we teach in #healthed and how it has harmed oppressed people because of their work. So for the next hour 20-30 health teachers reflected on what 2/?
they have taught forever and look at it through the #disrupttext lens. We talked about the food plate, bmi, food logs, fed up, supersize me and a plethora of other ways that health teachers have continued to teach without looking at how this lands with marginalized people

It also lead me to speak about how I am starting to redo the health curriculum through the lens of identity.

the threats, the white lash, the toxic masculinity, and all the garbage y'all have gone through for dong your labor of love for free. What it does show is that you are making a change. Not just within the silo of ELA. It is spreading across education. We are all better
