It’s an evidence that Graham net nets works if you’re disciplined to find
A few of the others are #SAIL #NALCO and #ANANTRAJ

cigar butts are what I started out as, I find few such opportunities once a year and it’s allocation is around 5-10 % of my PF. It’s vintage Heads I win & tails I don’t lose much.

Disc / Sebi-Registered. Not recommendations.
This is an evidence that if you stay disciplined with a unique style of investing you can make money in all forms. The difficult thing is to stay with your strategy when it’s not working.

Remember all strategy don’t work all the time, if you dabble your out of sync.
Although now I see net nets with different set of variables like earnings and free cash flows no debt, after imposing a set of new rules it’s difficult to find them, but not losing money ethos is what we give more importance to

These are strictly in my own PF and not clients.
Net nets are scare to find now in a bull market. But even in this market in Nov 2020 I found a Net Net & committed a 6 % of PF to it. So keep an eye at all time and stick to a strategy.

Charlie munger says - All intelligent investing is value investing.
The pioneer of this strategy is Benjamin Graham and his student Warren Buffett. Before Charlie munger Buffett made most of his money in these type of companies that are cheap.

So Buffett’s career is completely divided between Before Charlie and after Charlie.
How do you buy cigar butt type cos ? A few metrics are here

1. Cos selling below Working capital
2. Cash > M cap
3. Cos with good EPS & Selling at 2-5 x
4. Below 15 P/e

These are few metrics that you can use to shortlist the companies but it’s not all over here.
When to sell them ? Graham says 2 simple rules to sell such companies( I have a diff criteria)

1. If the co gives 30% return or
2. Sell after 3 years if not profitable.

To the above you can add your own metrics to shortlist companies. These are cheap companies.
