Financially speaking, keeping Hamada makes sense because of how he stabilized releases for DC after the JL disaster.

The problem is that between the Ray Fisher situation and these hit pieces taking shots at HBO Max, he's not making any friends in the fan audience at all...
...and given the state of the industry in this pandemic and the impact that will have going forward, he's either going to have to play ball with HBO Max sooner than later, or he's not going to last as long as his contract extension goes. The hit pieces have to stop. Now.
There's only so much rope that Kilar is going to give him and Emmerich before it starts hurting the bottom line. Right now it's not because there are no big releases in jeopardy and WW84, despite the mixed reactions to it, was a success across the board for WB and HBO Max...
...but if that success continues as we hope it does into ZSJL and it does connect with the general audience, then both Hamada and Emmerich will need to bend the knee and kiss the ring, or else they become massive liabilities.

Hamada isn't "safe." He's got a tightrope to walk.
It will be interesting to observe what happens going forward with the DC Films productions. What are we hearing from directors and actors about the studio? How are the scripts going? What's the level of freedom being given? How much meddling is there?
All of that is more important now because the general audience at least for the next year is going to have options on how to watch new WB movies, and smart money says that will continue on past 2021, so it's really time for WB to stop fighting HBO Max. Quickly.
Because right now their rhetoric and insider talk about "cul-de-sacs" and casting changes isn't affecting the general audience, but the second it does and one of the new DC films flat out bombs in a measurable way, that all changes. Drastically.

Should be intriguing, for sure.
