A thread
10.Lemon:Method Man
Meth comes through with a crazy feature off conways From A King to a god stealing the show with his ragged delivery witty wordplay and elite flow.
Meth proves to be an elite lyricist who doesn’t age yet again with this verse as he continues to dominate features decades into his career.
9.Jd’s revenge :Ransom
verse 1
In a year where Ransom dominated the shining was one verse that really stands out and proves him as an elite lyricist. With the eccentric delivery and such witty wordplay and hard hitting one liners. Remaining so engaging throughout the verse.
ransom delivers such a personal and introspective verse filled with meaningful messages. Giving such a poetic tales of the rough street life he’s surrounded by. Rapping with so much wisdom as he continues to shine.
8.Momentum:Black Thought
verse 3
The fact I could pick 15 different verses from Thought this year and say they all deserve a spot here speaks volumes about his Domiance and longevity.
Really stealing the show with this verse making such elite wordplay seem so effortless. Black though Proving yet again in 2021 to be the greatest feature artist ever.
8. My brothers keeper:Ka
verse 3
Decendants of Cain is a dark poetic and lyrically mind blowing masterpiece and the one verse which really highlights all these for me is My brothers Keeper.
With his drawn back and dark delivery he delivers such a lyrically dense and poetic verse. Ka goes really deep into reflecting on his childhood and gloomy upbringing with so many intelligent lines such as.
This ain’t for sport, once it’s caught we don’t release”
My birth right like a Sumerian
Made it out the belly with my cut like a cesarean”
7.12 hours:Che Noir
3rd verse
Che Noir remains one of the best breakout stars of 2020 and she delivers such a compelling 3rd verse here. Painting such a vivid picture of a dangerous mental conflict resulting in her shooting a cheating partner in a spiteful fit of rage.
However she completely misunderstood the scenario and her bitter act has had deep repercussions with it finally sinking in that she really shot him.
Such a passionate and engaging verse as she tells a story so well and impressed with her ability to grasp the listeners attention. Che displaying top tier storytelling ability.
5.We used to live in Brooklyn baby:Skyzoo verses 1
A truly touching tribute to his home town over such a pleasing set of jazz instrumentals. Skyzoo gives a sentimental verse reflecting on the greatness of his home town and diving into his experiences of growing up in Brooklyn.
Some of the best storytelling I’ve heard this year and such a warm and comforting verse. As he interpolates mighty Mos Defs habitat.
Just another example of why Skyzoo is such a compelling storyteller and one of the best lyricists out right now.
4.Medusa:Boldy James verse 1
The best intro of the year as Boldy Sets the tone for his introspective masterpiece with such an impressive and raw verse depicting the downfall of his life of crime.
Taking about trying to provide for his family despite the burden on him of a criminal record with such a smooth flow and raw delivery putting so much passion into every second of the track.
3.Troubled Water:Blu
verse 2
Blu delivers so many impressive verses throughout this album it was hard to pick one but his second verse on troubled water is such an incredible display of skill.
With the catchy folk sample and beat switch Blu comes in with such unique energy and impressive yet layered wordplay. Delivering a verse which is not just technically impressive but filled with meaning.
Blu is pours everything he’s got into his second verse with such inspiring words and hard hitting delivery.
Such a technically incredible verse with a fantastic rhyme scheme.
2.Forever Dropping Tears:
Conway verse 2
In the words of Conway himself
“every verse is verse of the year”. Conway delivers one of his most passionate verses yet as he sends goosebumps down the listeners spine with tales of a loss.
Wearing his heart on his sleeve Conway delivers such a raw verse getting all the little things of his chest he never got to say before to his friend producer and mentor Dj Shay who passed away recently. As he delivers a verse which is so much deeper then just rap.
As Ricky Hyde would say it, shit was just startin' to get beautiful
I wrote this while gettin' dressed for your funeral (Psh)
And I hope heaven got a studio”

Such a moving verse displaying conways lyricall prowess as well as his true passion which he embodies in every verse.
1.Overcomer:Royce da 5’9 verse 2
Royce da 5’9 is well into his 40s and continues to show that age is just a number only getting better and better as such a technically impressive lyricist.
Over a such a ceremonial beat Royce delivers such an introspective and meaningful verse with so many telling reflections of not just society but the outlook of every individual person on the world around us.
The overcomer talks about how we become sheep in society and lose sight of how we truly are and fall short of our moral values.
as Royce spits so many relevant and introspective bars about how he sees himself on a path of becoming a better man.
“I don't rhyme for the likes, I'm who the jealous target
I'm underground for life this shit is a seller's market
The rich get richer, the po' get mo' greedy
We need Clarance A. to get what's owed in these”
Such a relevant and important verse where Royce doesn’t put a single line to waste my verse of the year.
And a verse I could seriously see going down as one of the best verses ever as I pick up so many new lines with every listen to his verse.
Thanks for reading everyone
