#SyrCrunch owner Howard Dolgon will be #OnTheBlock with @BrentAxeMedia in a few minutes. Stay tuned here for my usual tweet spam thread. I'll try to keep up.
Dolgon admits that the return to play process was extreamly stressful and crazy. Sounds like the teams were a bit far apart on things like league payments vs. games played. Things came together nearly at the last minute.
"We're getting our matrix finalized probably now...We're looking at the 30-32 game range, which both Tampa and Syracuse were comfortable with...we were able to work out a matrix that allows us to play teams near us."
"I think we're going to have a good team, but it's about developing the players. We're not worried about the playoffs."
"I don't think we're going to likely have fans there at all (this season)...We want our community safe, we don't want to be a superspreader event."

However Dolgon stresses that for the brand, the players, and the fans it's worth having a season despite the financials.
"We're going to have to live with it short-term that the situation isn't ideal, but...it isn't ideal (for a lot of people). Nothing's good right now. We're just going to need to make the best of the situation with the focus on keeping our community safe."
Dolgon is assuming that fans won't be in the building until the 21-22 season, but gives fans something to look forward to: "October 2021 will probably be the most significant opener we've had since...1994."
"Am I being more conservative? Probably. But again, I don't want on my watch someone getting sick at our game...bringing it home...bringing it into a school. When you talk about doing long-term damage...that's long-term damage."
"I don't have the answers...I just know that our organization will always be on the side of caution and I hope people respect that it's for their own lives that we're going to be cautious."
"With great confidence I put (any roster concerns) in the hands of Tampa...but I think there will be a likelihood only based on numbers that we're going to add players from another organization."
"We understand that we might have a younger team this year, but I think that might be a good thing. It gives younger players to be in more situations...you learn a lot more about a player, and they're going to get the best coaching they've ever had."
"I think the quality of the hockey is going to be excellent and we're going to make it as available as we can to as many people as we can."
