Can we call in the army to help out when @PHE_uk are on annual leave, taking facility time, clocking off, working to rule etc etc? https://twitter.com/telegraph/status/1346572214586454016
If that story is true, it is sensational and if anything it makes the recent @asi and @InstituteGC reports even more damning
“Pfizer has about five million doses available in vials and ready for use in the UK, while AstraZeneca has four million in vials“
Astonishing!

The idea that British glass manufacturers would be unable to retool to make vials quickly didn’t make sense. I thought something was missing with the vial shortage explanation for sleepy vaccine rollout. PHE & MHRA seem much more plausible culprits for the go-slow since approval
Good thread. As Ryan says, this story changes everything and backs the Blair/ASI hypothesis that the problem is a lack of focus, not supply. We should be shamed by Israel’s leapfrogging of us, not complacent that the EU is even worse: https://twitter.com/mrrbourne/status/1346593498896752641
