First off, the Shoppers President estimated that if we used the 11K pharmacies we have in Canada, we could vaccinate 2 M+ people per week, or 285K people per day.

Right now, no level of government has a deal with Shoppers to deliver vaccines #cdnpoli
One reason there might not be a deal with Shoppers, is cause their President says dealing with Pfizer would be a challenge but they're ready to use Moderna or other vaccines.

He said that all 1800 Shoppers + pharmacies in Loblaws would be able to give covid vaccines #cdnpoli
The Shoppers President said that a couple days after cutting a deal with a government, they'd be ready to administer vaccines because they have their own cold chain distribution channel, and their pharmacists are already certified #cdnpoli
It's already common in Canada to have pharmacies give our vaccines, Shoppers gave our 2 M flu shots in 5 weeks this year, as per their President.

So when when we've only distributed 33% of the vaccines we have on hand, why haven't started using pharmacies to move faster?
For folks saying, "To do that, we need supply!" I 100% get that but even if we seriously ramp up the rate we're vaccinating, we're still gonna keep falling behind.

This week we're getting 124K Pfizer doses, as of 5 pm ET today, we only vaccinated 4790 people nationally #cdnpoli
But even if we hit the goal of 2 M+ vaccinations per week in pharmacies, it would take 9 and half months to vaccinate 38 M people twice. So, any strategy for us to meet the PMJT goal of everyone being able to get a vaccinated by Sept, is going to require even more capacity
