- Provide scheduling options in their time zone, not your own
- Request 20-30 min max. Don’t assume they have a full hour, especially for a first conversation
- Ask if they prefer phone or video (sometimes they may need a break from all the zooms)

- Try to avoid platforms they will have to download, may not have used before, may be firewalled, etc. When in doubt just do a phone call!
- Your calendar invitation should include your name in the title, ideally a short agenda, and any helpful/referenced attachments

A tone that conveys enthusiasm, humility and overall niceness will likely go farther than overconfidence/ entitlement. It shows a lot about you if you indicate an understanding that their time is valuable.
