So while I’m not gonna write a good thread on it, the long and short is that a fair sized group of evangelicals are obsessed with bringing out about the rapture, and they have huge convoluted ideas about how to do that (and they of course argue constantly)
One fairly common set of beliefs is that Israel needs to exist as a sovereign state, the temple has to be rebuilt, and sacrifices have to begin again. Don’t ask me why, I’ve blocked large chunks of this out.
