This is sad. Taking this as it is, there needs to be further conversation about the far right in Ireland. There's a consistent threat that's beyond demonstrations. https://twitter.com/stebreen/status/1346396355653201921
Violence from them is something the Gardai have had to deal with and get ready for. This was in response to previous demonstrations. https://www.google.ie/amp/s/www.irishexaminer.com/news/arid-40059962.html%3ftype=amp
Natasha Dromey, an expert in terrorism, has said there is a risk of this type of behaviour getting normalised. https://www.google.ie/amp/s/www.irishexaminer.com/opinion/commentanalysis/arid-40051307.html%3ftype=amp
There has been assaults. This isn't an invention of the media or some conspiracy. @IzzyKamikaze was assaulted last September by a member of Irish far right party. https://www.google.ie/amp/s/www.irishexaminer.com/news/courtandcrime/arid-40149173.html%3ftype=amp
Attacks on people aren't just physical. There were reports of petrol being thrown at people countering a rally last autumn. There's also been horrible acts of racism such as these graffiti. 'Ireland Belongs to the Irish' is the slogan of the National Party.
Most recent example of this is this letter sent to family members belonging to #GeorgeNkencho. This is sickening. https://www.irishtimes.com/news/crime-and-law/garda%C3%AD-investigate-sending-of-racist-letter-to-george-nkencho-s-family-1.4450952
Online abuse, racist graffiti, and letters to family members. This is a scattered collection of examples. I'm a straight white lad from Cork, I haven't experienced racism, but I see accounts and people such as @hazechu @tweetymonkey and @unakavanagh deal with this regularly.
This is a detailed thread I did on the far right in ireland from 2020. https://twitter.com/judgedyl/status/1304931836225884160
The demonstrations last autumn are the face of a deep rooted movement. They thrive online through Bitchute and Parler. These attacks are co-ordinated to an extent and not isolated incidence.
Also, in previous thread I did I mentioned how the far right tried to use the Carrigaline stabbing and to create a false narrative. Disinformation was frantic for a few days. The same is being done in relation to the #georgenchenko shooting.
This is one example. There were also attempts at showing a man stabbed, saying George did that. The pictures were of an Everton fan before a FA Cup game against Milwall. https://www.google.ie/amp/s/www.thejournal.ie/george-nkencho-32-convictions-factcheck-5315584-Jan2021/%3famp=1
The far-right aren't some wretched villain in the shadows. The people pulling the strings hide in different guises and wording.
They can be anything from websites such as The Burkean, a website ran by students of Trinity college. They disguise their politics in philosophy to give it a gloss of respectability.
Or they can be YouTubers such as Gearóid Murphy, Rowan Croft, and Keith Woods. I've gone into this in the previous thread.

If people are going to recognise this problem, we need laws that actually keep up with the pace of the internet. Partially this is hate speech legislation but also to hold people account for co-ordinated attempts at attacking/doxxing people online.
People have sent horrible messages to me on Twitter and Facebook. It's not nice. I saw a thread online once saying I should be hung. Others have gotten this 1000x worse.
These groups also harass sex workers. That needs to be addressed. People who have Only Fans accounts have been subject to vile abuse and articles demonising them. These groups target a lot of people - POC, trans, sex workers.
