Misinformation on top of misinformation. So I just finished watching an interview with my representative @JodyHice where he noted his intent to object tomorrow. Never done this before, but I’m off today and decided to give his office a call to discuss...
Cont’d: A nice aide answered and I told her I would like to know the specific reason as to why Hice would be objecting tomorrow and she goes into the reasons at which time I stop her and ask again, for specifics, not talking points.
Her number one reason mentioned was the problem with absentee ballots being sent out en masse to all GA voters, at which point I stop her and tell her that this was indeed not the case. There applications sent for absentee ballots.
She apologizes and says “oh, you’re right, sorry about that”. Everything else she mentioned was solely conjecture. She very carefully put that “not saying anything bad did happen, but that it was possibility”.
That’s unacceptable. Anything “could” happen at any time. That’s a silly reason upon which to base an objection to a national election. The misinformation and talking points regarding absentee ballots being sent out to all voters in the in GA is exact follows the same...
...path the President takes when spreading “facts”. Tweaking actual truth in order to make your argument sound much better than it is (or in this case to even create the argument to start) is just plain wrong. It’s gotta stop. Do better.
Either come on with all of your evidence or move along. Contrary to these talking points, all of America is not upset and angry about the outcome of the election. Doesn’t matter what I think. The will of the people - all of the people - is what matters.
Furthermore, applause at a @KLoeffler rally should not, @CongressmanHice , “energize” you to ignore the rest of your constituency by proceeding. I wish everyone, starting with you, our elected officials (and I did vote for you) would deescalate and back us away from the cliff.
Not that you’ll ever see this @CongressmanHice but I’d love to discuss this and a few other issues with you. I left my info with your aide. And fwiw, I don’t believe there was any intent on her part to spread bad info but still, if I was uninformed, I would have believed it.
I appreciate the job you do and I understand the tough position and political pressure you face on the daily. Let’s all pull together here.
